Having access to reliable, real-time tank inventory data is vital to accurate fuel inventory management. Coggins International has a long history of integrating ATG systems, dating back to the 1970s and our first automation project – a bulk storage terminal. Today, as a distributor of Rosemount™ Tank Gauging (RTG) products and services, we take automatic tank gauging and inventory management to a whole new level, delivering the most accurate system for custody transfer, process and inventory control. Based on industry standards and an open systems architecture, an RTG solution combines tank level, temperature, water-interface and pressure (density) measurement technology with wired and wireless communication devices, allowing tank replenishment without risk of overflow.
The integration of our FuelsAutomation tank management software with Rosemount’s maintenance-free radar gauging system is unmatched in the Oil & Gas Industry, delivering the ultimate in robustness, reliability, safety and accuracy. Our SCADA expertise can be traced back to 1978 when Keith Coggins started Coggins Systems, Inc. in response to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) formation of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR)—the largest stockpile of government-owned emergency crude oil in the world. This was during the 1970s Energy Crisis that was sweeping the globe. DOE reached out to Keith Coggins – based his reputation for cutting-edge innovations in technology – to develop and install an advanced Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System on a fast track, turnkey basis for all of its SPR facilities along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Texas. The huge success of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve’s fast-track automation program catapulted Coggins Systems into the Oil & Gas Industry as a market leader.
